FiiO launches the all-new portable DAC & Amp, the KA17, equipped with dual channel flagship ES9069Q DAC chipset. This portable DAC & Amp also features a robust desktop mode with 650mW+650mW output, efficiently providing power to most IEMs and headphones. Along with this, FiiO KA17 is incorporated with a professional grade XMOS 16 core XU316 processor and allows ten-segment high-precision PEQ adjustments to tune to your preferred style. FiiO has equipped a fully balanced THX AAA 78 amp circuit in the KA17. It features an anti-crosstalk design to separate digital and analogue boards to ensure accuracy and preserve the dynamics of the original audio signal. Excellent Audio Performance With The Flagship ESS SABRE ES9069Q Dual DAC Chipset Unit
FiiO KA17 showcases the new ESS ES9069Q flagship dual DAC chipset. This DAC chip unit is powered by the fourth-generation HyperStream modular technology that processes 32-bit audio data. FiiO KA17 provides better performance with this DAC chipset, lowering the power consumption and digital noise compared to the previous generation DAC chips. The dual ES9069Q DAC chipset supplies power in a four-way core design, which results in excellent performance in delivering DNR of 130dB and THD+N up to 120dB in the sound produced to you. The ESS Sabre developed DAC chipset has a day output resistance of 39 Ohms and supports hardware and TDM mode.

FiiO KA17 has a robust power supply in a compact design. It is assembled in a three-main stage design. The initial stage consists of filtering coupled with overvoltage protection, the second stage works on DC-DC conversion and the third stage delivers LDO voltage stabilization. Each stage works on specific aspects of the audio circuit, which are digital conversion, digital-to-analogue conversion, and analogue signal conversion. The power supply is subsided into ten smaller rails, like the ones found in desktop headphone amplifiers, to ensure resilience and high-quality sound output.
Features A USB Type C Port And SPDIF Output For Independent Power Supply
FiiO features two USB Type-C ports for independent power supply in the KA17. One is the typical port used to connect to other devices such as phones, tablets and computers. The orange port on the side is provided for an external power supply. When an external power supply is connected to this port, the KA17 can achieve higher power output and better performance without consuming the battery of your phone or other connected device. FiiO has also featured SPDIF output in the KA17 supported by the 3.5mm headphone jack, with which you can transform it into a digital jukebox. The SPDIF output supports a 96kHz/32bit sample rate. You can connect to an external high-end DAC for flexibility and better sound quality. With sufficient USB power supply input and desktop mode enabled, the KA17's four THX headphone amps work together parallelly for more significant current and overall power output. The result is up to 270mW+270mW power output for single-ended out and up to 650mW+650mW power output for balanced out.

The FiiO KA17 features desktop mode, taking your jamming sessions to the next level. The desktop mode is refined with the release of various products, such as the portable yet desktop-grade M17, Q7, M15S, Q15 and KA13. And now the perfected desktop mode has found its way to the KA17. The FIIO KA17 features a special desktop mode, activated using the dedicated D.Mode switch. Enable the desktop mode, and the KA17 will automatically adjust the DAC, amplifier power supply, and amplifier power output to unleash the potential with greater power output. The FiiO KA17 also supports the Android FiiO control App. FiiO has also featured a UAC1.0 Driver-free mode, which allows you to plug in and enjoy your gaming sessions. How to update the V2.25 firmware for FiiO KA17?
You can update the V2.25 firmware for the FiiO KA17 on both Windows and Mac computers. - Firmware Download Link: Click here - Video Guide (Mac): Click here - Video Guide (Windows): Click here Before updating, please follow these precautions: 1. Unplug other decoders from the computer’s USB ports to avoid upgrade failure. 2. Ensure you are using the correct firmware update tool based on your Mac chip (Intel or M1/M2). 3. Use the latest version of the Android FiiO Control App after updating. 4. If you see an "Upgrade failed" error, keep the USB cable connected, press the KA17 button to wake the screen, and restart the upgrade tool. FiiO USB DAC Driver (Windows only): Click here Firmware Update Steps (Windows): 1. Install the latest FiiO USB DAC driver and restart your computer. 2. Connect the KA17 directly to a USB port on the back of your PC. 3. Set D.MODE switch to OFF, USB mode to U2.0, and EQ to OFF before upgrading. 4. Run “FiiO\_Dfu\_KA17” and click Start. 5. When the message “Firmware upgrade finished successfully” appears, re-plug KA17. It will display “Updating, about 3 mins, PLS don’t unplug USB”. Wait until “UPDATE OK” appears. Firmware Update Steps (Mac): 1. Choose the correct tool: For Intel Chip MAC or For M Chip MAC. 2. Unzip the “FIIO\_KA17\_v2.21” package and run the updater. 3. Click Search → Start. 4. Re-plug KA17 after the process begins. The screen will show “Updating, about 3 mins, PLS don’t unplug USB”. 5. Once “UPDATE OK” appears, the upgrade is complete.
